It is generally believed that the American hydrocarbon energy utility companies do not receive any form of Federal Tax subsidy. Data from the Environmental Law Institute shows that this is not the case.
In fact, the hydrocarbon energy sector receives far more subsidies than the renewable sector.
Who knew? American utilities seem to get their profits through tax breaks and subsidies. This looks like wealth transfer by a government which prides itself on running a Capitalist system. The American Consumers pay for their energy twice. Once through their taxes that fund the subsidies and then again when they pay their utility bills; no wonder they are in debt!
